Madeira Island Tour – Eira do Serrado & Monte
- Amazing views over the village of the Nun’s Valley a volcanic village in the mountains of Madeira Island.
- Possibility to descent on our traditional sledges in Monte (Extra cost).
- Visit an embroidery house and taste of our Madeira wine.
Following the road, we’ll stop at Eira do Serrado, where we have a viewpoint and an amazing view over the village of “Curral das Freiras”, the Nun’s Valley. This village is known for the chestnut festival and cherry drink, Ginja.
Continuing the trip, we go in direction of Monte, where you will find our famous wood sledges, that used to carry people down to the city of Funchal. Over there you have also the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte, Our Lady of Monte.
To finish the trip, you’ll visit an Embroidery house where you can appreciate some amazing work of arts and where you’ll have the possibility to taste our Madeira wine.
A trip not to miss!
The first part of the trip takes you to the top of the third highest mountain of Madeira, Pico ruivo, on an altitude of 1818m. As you can imagine, the views from up there are breathtaking.
